The two groups are currently working together to provide introductory computer skills training to senior citizens in Carroll County. A group of 16 students from the Carroll Vista Community began their first class on Monday, November 3rd, at the Carroll Non-Profit Center.  Additional training will be held on November 10th and November 17th. Primary  instruction is being provided by CTIC’s Jack Bayne with support from the Literacy Council’s Executive Director, Sam Greenholtz. Future classes will have additional instructors from the Literacy Council, including  Sam Cangelosi, and Bill and Judy Fortin.

Carroll Vista has participated in other programs offered by the Literacy Council and were held at their location. They will be offering their residents a class on Recognizing and Avoiding Scams in December.

All of these classes are provided free of charge, but donations will be accepted.

If you have a group interested in computer training at the beginner’s, intermediate, or advanced levels, please contact LCCC at 410-857-0766 or info@carrollliteracy.org.

We also offer classes in other areas, such as Financial Literacy, How to Recognize and Avoid Scams (Includes a Carroll County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson), iPhone Class, and Android Class.
